Creating a Statement Lighting Piece

Lilt was my final piece for John Edson's (Lunar) Formgiving Course.
The design was inspired by the contrast of structure and freeform. This floor lamp is designed to fill a room with both its arching structure and its soft, diffuse light.
I molded the stem on a tube bender, sewed the lamp shade, poured a concrete base, and had my first experience with soldering to integrate the wiring with the lamp stem.
